Our Story
For over 70 years, Camp Ozark has provided the very best in summer camping and life-transforming experiences. Since 1985, Incomparable Camp Ozark has been operated by Sam and Susan Torn, whose personal philosophies of “never settling” and “striving for excellence” have been the cornerstone of the mission, culture and operations.
Fortified by their faith and inspired by the words of Paul in Philippians 3:12, they have faithfully committed their skills and talents towards God’s purpose through the summer camp experience. To learn more about Camp Ozark, click here.
In 2002, the Camp Ozark staff, and specifically the Torn Family, established the Camp Ozark Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Camp Ozark Foundation was created to expand the scope and reach of programs offered to support and encourage the spiritual and emotional growth of children, youth and families, regardless of economic status.
In 2004, the first of the Camp Ozark Foundation organizations, Ozone Ministries, was established to provide a year-round opportunity for youth to establish and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. The organization has thrived over the last fifteen-plus years to include chapters in Arkansas Louisiana, and Texas. In 2006, Ozark for All was established and an incomparable summer camp program for under-resourced youth was created. Since its inception, nearly 5,000 deserving children from across the Southeast have experienced the life-changing impact of the Camp Ozark and Camp OTX programs. And in 2018, the Camp Ozark Foundation established the Ozark Leadership Institute, a leadership and development program for young adults seeking uncommon leadership excellence and a Christ-centered worldview.
